Montelukast can be taken by adults and children aged 6 months and over, depending on the prescribed dose.
As with many medicines, Montelukast is not suitable for everyone. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist to make sure it is safe for you. Montelukast may not be appropriate if you:
Have ever had an allergic reaction to Montelukast or any of its ingredients
Have a rare hereditary problem of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption
